The c7 Wedding Weekend

There was so much love and friendship in this past weekend that it's going to be hard for me to write a blog without getting all emotional.

One of my closet friends from high school and college got married this past weekend and I was lucky enough to be asked to be her maid of honor.

The weekend started on Friday with the drive up to East Lansing, MI where the bride and groom live - both went to MSU.

I was the first to arrive to their apartment and Cindy was excitedly showing me everything that I had yet to see. She really had her 'shit' together. Within a few hours Marc and Liz arrived (the ones from Thailand) and the greetings began. John arrived a short while later and - finally - the wedding party was together for the first time.

We headed over to Crunchy's for a bucket of beer, some good food and good company. We had awesome glow sticks (what a deal!) and the tigers/wings playing in the background. It was a really good start to a fabulous weekend.

The next morning we got up and the girls went for a fabulous pamper session of mani's and pedi's. AMAZING! We all wore our 'Little Miss Trouble' tees that Liz got us from Thailand!

After the nails Liz and I went to our hotel and took showers and got ready for the rehearsal dinner and run through. What a fabulous meal at Old Chicago curtsey of Adams parents. We had a lot of laughs there mostly in part to Adam's awesome brother Austin and all his antics.

The rehearsal went very smoothly - everyone did everything right and we had perfect weather!! After the rehearsal we all stayed and decorated the site for the next day -- then went home and got some rest for the big day!

The next morning Liz and I woke up pretty early and were heading to Cindy's room when I got a text from her saying "Love you guys. Are you up?" - she was ready for the day to begin. We all got in our shirts I made the week before and headed downstairs for a little breakfast. Liz and I went to the apartment to where all the guys were staying (still sleeping of course) and got some last minute stuff for Cindy and headed over to the reception site to get things together.

After we made sure everything looked right Cindy went to get her makeup done as Liz and I went to go get our hair done. WHAT FUN! We had the salon to ourselves and we were drinking our Mimosas and dancing to music and just being VERY girly. It was honestly amazing. And the tears started as soon as Cindy's veil went in. Amy, her photographer was there to capture every moment and I cannot wait to see what she got! She made the day even better! So positive and girly, she was great!

We then headed back to the hotel to all get dressed. Liz and I got changed really quick so we could help the beautiful bride into her gorgeous gown. More tears flowed when we saw how amazing Cindy looked - like she was made for that gown. After we got done getting Cindy all ready, it was time for her to go meet her man.

We arrived at a park in East Lansing for the photographer to take some awesome photos. She had Adam hid and Cindy walk up behind him and then they saw each other for the first time - it was really sweet. The park was fun - I always like pictures but the mosquitoes were AWFUL! I think we all had about 100 bites in various places - the dedication of the photographer was awesome.

Ceremony Time!! The whole ceremony went off without a hitch - the ring bearer and the flower girl did so well! When everyone saw Cindy walking down the aisle with Mr. Herman more tears started - happy tears. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and we really couldn't have asked for better weather.

Time for the reception!! We all got announced in to the Entourage theme song which I thought was a very clever idea since we were their entourage. Very cool.

John, the best man, and I realized that the speeches were coming up next and we quickly made our way to the bar. We got some Oberon and were ready. Mr. Herman spoke first and did an awesome job speaking about all of Cindy's achievements and how special she really is to everyone. It was then my turn and it was a lot harder to get through then I thought it was going to be. I practiced and practiced and really didn't think I was going to get all the choked by but its completely different when your saying these words directly to them. I successfully made it through and John spoke next. I don't know what he was worried about! He did great! Adam really did pick an awesome best man! Adam's dad, Mr. Kaump, was last and OMG - I think he pretty much made everyone cry! Awesome job everyone!!

The reception was awesome - so much fun. The food was great, the cake delicious and the dancing never stopped!

The weekend went by far too fast and I'm really sad to see it gone. It brought Cindy and me much closer and for that I'm SO grateful. The whole experience was SO memorable and I wouldn't have changed a single thing about the weekend. Adam and Cindy are now on their way to Jamaica so I hope they have a great time!

I love you two SO much! Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your special day!

A Weekend Recap Blog

So this weekend started off on the right foot.

After work on Friday I went over to Cindy's house in Novi and we did a bunch of wedding stuff - her mom made us dinner.

I thought we would get more done then we did but what we did get done turned out fabulous. We made table numbers and they are SO stinking cute.

While doing all the wedding stuff we got in the wedding mood by drinking Mimosas and watching a bunch of wedding movies. It was a really good time and when all this wedding stuff is over I'll be sad because it means I won't see Cindy as much as I have in the past year.

When I got home, to my surprise, both parents were still up. What shocked me even more is that they were watching Jimmy Kimmel with Eminem. But, although I do not like Jimmy Kimmel, this episode was pretty fantastic since it consisted of all layed off MI auto workers. Job well done Jimmy and Eminem.

I ended up getting sick on Saturday morning and I was completely bummed out because I really wanted to go to the Downtown Hoedown with my friends, esp. since it turned out to be a nice day - cold, but sunny.

So, my Saturday consisted of bed, movies and once I felt better, cleaning of the room. I was bored but the rest felt really good.

Sunday morning my mom comes barging in the house with the Free Press and what was on the cover that made her so excited? Sea Lamprey. It's funny how my family gets excited to see this, the creatures are insanely gross, but it shows how much they listen and care about what Adam does.

Since I was cooped up all Saturday my mom and I went to go see a movie, EARTH. It was a amazingly gorgeous movie but I think I got screwed. It was the same thing as Planet Earth - with a few different scenes. I was more then a little mad BUT it was nice to go out with my mom and there really wasn't anything else out yet.

Ended the day with a nice three mile walk - which my mom and I have been doing everyday! I think that and the Special K diet have been the reason that I now fit into my bridesmaid dress perfectly!!!

Next weekend is going to be insane. Wedding weekend!!

I Swear I Liked It.

So this weekend was pretty awesome.

It's been a long while since Adam and I have gone on a date - like a date date, the dinner and movie kind.

Adam came home this weekend to say a final farewell before he leaves for good to Hammond Bay, MI for the summer. This is a four hour drive so not horrible but definitely not doable every weekend. This is the forth year in a row we've been without each other for a summer but I think we're getting use to it - the goodbyes just aren't as bad.

So, he came home and we went to dinner and a movie - he wanted to see Star Trek. The great thing about me, according to Adam, is that I will literally see every movie. I'm more attracted to the big blockbuster/sci-fi/boy movies then I am to the romantic comedies, but don't get me wrong, I love a romantic comedy now and then but that's why God made mothers and girlfriends J.

Anyways, we were waiting in line to get our tickets and when we were called up we were asked if we wanted to make our seats into VIP tickets, we, of course, said yes. This movie was going to be crazy packed on a Saturday and we were going to dinner before hand and with the VIP treatment, your seats are saved AND you get to sit in some pretty amazing chairs.

"Man, it's like we're seating in Captain Kirk's chair." - said by an older Star Trek fan

Adam was really worried that I wasn't going to like this movie but right from the start the movie grabbed my attention and it didn't let go throughout the entire film. Is this an Oscar worthy film? No. But it was able to take the audience through an adventure- almost like a ride. I have NEVER watched Star Trek before nor have I ever had the desire too but I am now curious to see what happens next.

This movie was a prequel. It showed how everything came to be, which didn't matter to me since this was my first Star Trek experience. I enjoyed that the film didn't have any 'big names' because I think that would have taken a lot away from the film. You didn't need big names, you had big effects and a great story line - at least I thought so. They did have Syler from Hero's and the original Spook which was pretty cool.

I would definitely say that this was a good start to the summer movie list I have going on. It would be something I would recommend to anyone because it's fun- just plain fun. I miss that about movies- I want to go to the movies to have fun and this movie did just that.

Oh, and PS - How cute is my niece?

Summer Movie List

I thought I would pleasure my readers with my list of this years must see movies - according to me. You're all lucky too, since YouTube is gracious enough to have all the trailers for me to put up on my blog.

Number One has GOT to be Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It has now been more than a year since the last movie was out and the sixth installment of Harry Potter was my favorite. I have VERY high expectations for this movie and I really hope it doesn't disappoint like some of the other Harry Potter movies have done.

Number Two would have to be G.I. Joe based on the fact that my bother worked on it and his girlfriend is in it - although I do enjoy big blockbuster films in the summer.

Number Three is going to be… Terminator Salvation. I don't think you can get much better than that. I love Christian Bale and anything he is in I will want to see.

I think that's enough trailers for one blog but the other movies are;

UP

Star Trek

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Public Enemies (Johnny Depp AND Christian Bale - come on)
