A Winter Wonderland

Today I felt the need to go outside and breath in some fresh snowy air. We had the first big snow fall in awhile yesterday and everything was just beautiful outside.

I just had to photography Mickey running around in the snow - this was just a must.

My favorite.

Personal: Joining Families

I would love it if the only thing I had to do in life was to blog, but unfortunately it isn't. I'm still on break right now, since my company pretty much rocks it out when it comes to Christmas break, and I'm really trying to make an effort in the whole blogging world.

Christmas has come and gone but the Ornekian household still had one more party. It was the joining of two families. My brother recently proposed to his girlfriend of nine, yes nine, years and we were having a dinner to celebrate the two families joining together.

Here are some photos of the celebration!

I just love how happy Kellie looks in this one!

Personal: An Inspiration

People sometimes become obsessed with an idea of what they want to be and what they want to give to the world.

I am no different.

Some people can go through-out their lives without knowing what they want to be and what they want to give back to the world - I am lucky in this aspect.

I want to be an artist.

This is why I am going to try and make a promise.

Starting January 1st, 2010 I plan on taking a least one photo everyday (baring any unforeseen events) and posting it on here.

Although I may not post a blog everyday, I will try and post a few times a week with my photos. I will give the reasons why and the actions took for each photo. I do this because I believe that photos can touch people in different ways. Whether is be a newborn baby or freshly fallen snow, every photo means something.

Every photo is a moment captured in time.

I will look to my photographer inspirations to guide me and to help me in every technical aspect. I encourage readers to read blogs like Amy Carroll's, Jasmine Star and Jessica Claire. These women are geniuses and although they may never know who I am, I want them to know that they were an inspiration to me. If I can do that to one reader, what they did to me, I will be happy.

So, that is my promise. This is something that I want to go through with. This is something that I can do.

And because every post is better with a photo here is my niece on Christmas morning. Life doesn't get much better then watching a two year old open presents from Santa Clause on Christmas morning.

Ornekian Family - Family/Maternity Session

I think one of my New Year's resolutions, besides dieting and working out, is going to be to blog more. I need to blog my favorite pictures from every shoot I do - I'm bad at this. I haven't had too many shoots yet but the ones I have I need to post.

One of the last sessions I did was of my sister-in-law and my brother, along with their toddler Julia. Cat, my sister-in-law, is due with their second child (a girl) at the end of February. We wanted to take some time to photograph Cat while pregnant. Cat wears pregnancy very well, as you'll be able to tell, she's gorgeous and glowing.

Here are some of my favorites. This will most likely be the last session of this family as a family of three.

Hope you enjoy!

How cute is this "Big Sister"?

She loves listening to Mommy's tummy, talking to baby Gabi.

Seriously, does it get any cuter?

Some mommy and daughter time...

My sister-in-law is BEAUTIFUL!

Cat and Jewels LOVE to goof around!

My favorite family shot ... what a gorgeous family.

She's excited about seeing all the snowmen!

I love the realness to this shot.

She has an obession with snowmen!

If anyone knows Derek and Cat, this is them ... to a tee!

Downtown Northville is an amazing place to shoot. I recommend this to everyone.

Love.

Things like this DO happen. Everything can't always be happy and smiles!

Love this shot of my brother and Julia.

Thank you Derek and Cat (and Julia) for putting up with the cold! I love you guys!

Birthday Night

Today was my 25th birthday.

I don't have any feelings toward this number other then the fact that I thank God that I'm 25 and have a great family and friends who I can count on for anything.

No, birthdays don't bother me (at least not yet). Birthdays remind me how much I'm loved, not only by the people who are close to me, but the people far away. Birthdays are the times where friends from high school and family from across the US stop and take a minute to recognize your day.

I was flabbergasted at the amount of people who wrote on my facebook wall today. So many friends and family members whom I speak to everyday and friends and family that I don't speak to often enough.

No, I don't feel like birthdays are about the amount of presents you get or the lavish parties (although those are fun), but to me they are about the people who are stopping to recognize you. That these people are happy you were born on this day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped today and wished me a happy birthday.

I have been an awful blogger and I apologize for that. I have been so caught up in the editing and the shooting of randomness that I've forgotten to blog all together.

So much has happened and gone on between now and my last blog post and there really isn't enough time to discuss it all. There has been a wedding, a birth and many birthdays.

My life has truly been 'blessed' this and past months.

Love this photo I got at the wedding last month!

Dick and Carol: 35th Wedding Anniversary

This past Saturday I took my parents out for some fun 35th Anniversary photos. Although my dad was a little uncomfortable with the whole thing, they did great!

I hope they love their pictures and see many more anniversaries together.

Love you mom and dad!!
