Today was my 25th birthday.
I don't have any feelings toward this number other then the fact that I thank God that I'm 25 and have a great family and friends who I can count on for anything.
No, birthdays don't bother me (at least not yet). Birthdays remind me how much I'm loved, not only by the people who are close to me, but the people far away. Birthdays are the times where friends from high school and family from across the US stop and take a minute to recognize your day.
I was flabbergasted at the amount of people who wrote on my facebook wall today. So many friends and family members whom I speak to everyday and friends and family that I don't speak to often enough.
No, I don't feel like birthdays are about the amount of presents you get or the lavish parties (although those are fun), but to me they are about the people who are stopping to recognize you. That these people are happy you were born on this day.
Thank you to everyone who stopped today and wished me a happy birthday.
